United Nations Volunteers Campaign Coordinator – Air Pollution Jobs in KenyaEligibility criteria Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of task
Coordinating the delivery of the Communications Division Air Pollution Action Plan
To play a lead role in rolling out the air pollution communication strategy – including the BeatAirPollution campaign -, working closely with colleagues in the Communication Division’s production teams (multimedia, writing, design) and delivery units (digital and social media, news media, traditional media, etc).
To oversee and guide implementation of the air pollution communication strategy – including the BeatAirPollution campaign - ensuring key deliverables are met and proactive and reactive opportunities are being maximised. Convene and attend meetings to ensure effective delivery.
To engage and empower citizens, governments and the private sector through digital platforms on the links between air pollution, health and climate change.
To coordinate the creation of digital assets where appropriate.
To monitor communication channels for activity relevant to the topic.
To serve as the focal point for air pollution communication within the organization, coordinating regular content posting and emergency responses to related crises.
To facilitate coordination between divisions.
To coordinate partnership outreach.
To perform any other duties as required.
Coordinating UNEP’s role as a partner of the BreatheLife Action Platform
To serve as UNEP’s focal point for BreatheLife-related activities, including its leading role in public-facing communication.
To liaise regularly with the other BreatheLife partners – CCAC and WHO – to coordinate the Platform’s activities and to lead on public-facing communication efforts.
To identify opportunities to engage policymakers and promote successful urban policies to improve air quality through communication formats.
To identify and create new partnerships to for new campaigns and extending the reach of existing ones;
Support the Chief of Section, Public Advocacy and Communications in fundraising and resource mobilization efforts.
Other tasks as assigned by the Chief of section:
To be flexible and able to deliver on other unexpected tasks as per the requirements of the division or assignment by the Chief of section
Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
Journalism, Marketing, Communication, Education, Sociology, Social Sciences or related field is required
Required experience: 24 Months
2 years experience with international aid/development organizations, past experience with UN/UNEP is preferred
Demonstrated interest and/or experience in social and behavior change communication, preferably either in health or environmental communication and related field
English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
