United Nations Environment Programme Power Platform Consultant Jobs in Kenya

Job Purpose

Support UNEP’s Chief Digital Office in developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications to automate business processes as part of UNEP’s digital transformation strategy.

Facilitate digital engagement with UNEP divisions, offices, and MEA secretariats.

Report to the Head of DevOps and Infrastructure Unit under overall supervision of the Chief Digital Officer.

Responsibilities

Participate in business automation initiatives using PowerApps, Power Flows, and Jira.

Develop system schemas, data dictionaries, functional specifications, and user documentation.

Gather and document user requirements and translate into digital applications.

Work with developers to implement PHP and PowerApps solutions with MySQL, Dataverse, and MS SQL back‑ends.

Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot existing systems; provide user support.

Draft technical correspondence and coordinate with service providers.

Maintain and support a portfolio of applications.

Research new technologies and assist in implementation.

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Special Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in software development, web application design, technical documentation, or related areas required.

Minimum years of experience reduced to 1 for candidates with a first‑level university degree or higher.

Additional training or technical/vocational certificate in IT desirable.

Experience in Low‑Code/No‑Code application development, APIs, and DevOps highly desirable.

Languages

Fluency in oral and written English required.

Knowledge of another official UN language desirable.
