United Nations Environment Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Jobs in Kenya;The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will design and implement a baseline study to support a Peacebuilding Fund project addressing land conflicts and social cohesion in conflict‑affected areas of the DRC. The consultant will provide substantive input in socio‑economic and security analysis, update the project logical framework, and deliver strategic recommendations for effective programme implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the baseline methodology.

  • Conduct conflict analysis and stakeholder mapping.

  • Assess social cohesion and security perceptions.

  • Collect, analyze, and manage data.

  • Produce analytical reports and recommendations, including updates to the project logical framework.

  • Facilitate validation and stakeholder engagement.

    Qualifications & Special Skills

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in monitoring and evaluation, policy analysis, social sciences, rural/urban development, or related fields.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 additional years of experience accepted in lieu of Master’s.

  • More than 5 years of experience conducting and managing baseline evaluations/studies and project monitoring and evaluation.

  • Ability to select relevant data sources, collect data efficiently, and analyze/interpret data in social cohesion, land governance,
    and economic resilience.

  • Ability to engage with stakeholders (government, business, civil society, UNCT) to gather information and participate in problem‑solving.

  • Knowledge of the project’s areas of intervention is a significant asset.

    Languages

  • Fluency in oral and written French required.

  • Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.

    Work Location

    Kinshasa, DRC.

    Result of Service

  • Delivery of a comprehensive baseline report.

  • Establishment and update of the programme logical framework.

  • Provision of strategic recommendations for programme implementation.
