United Nations Environment Programme Climate Finance and Stakeholders Engagement Analyst Jobs in Kenya; The consultant will contribute to the delivery of the Viet Nam Nature‑based Solutions for Adaptation in Agriculture through Private Sector Transformation (VN‑ADAPT) project. VN‑ADAPT supports Viet Nam in strengthening climate resilience across its agriculture sector by scaling Nature‑based Solutions for Adaptation (NbSA) in two highly vulnerable landscapes: the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands. UNEP’s role focuses on integrating climate and biodiversity objectives into provincial land‑use planning and mobilising public and private finance for NbSA in agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessment of local financial institutions to understand willingness, capacity, constraints, and readiness to finance NbSA in agriculture.

  • Engage financial institutions, public actors, partner companies, investors, and market stakeholders through workshops, consultations, and meetings.

  • Analyse risks, barriers, opportunities, and market players shaping NbSA investment opportunities.

  • Support preparation of policy brief/white paper summarising NbSA finance landscape in Viet Nam, with stakeholder mapping and recommendations.

  • Assess and categorise financial institutions by risk appetite, investment readiness, financing needs, and potential role in NbSA business models.

  • Develop and maintain database of investment‑ready partner companies aligned with VN‑ADAPT activities.

  • Facilitate targeted matchmaking between financial institutions and partner companies.

  • Build partnerships with local organisations, platforms, and service providers (e.g., Lower Mekong Finance Forum, Vietnam Impact Investor Network).

  • Organise knowledge‑sharing workshops, investment fairs, and events connecting government,
    capital providers, companies, and partners.

  • Support translation (English–Vietnamese) of technical documents and UNEP mission reports as needed.

    Qualifications & Special Skills

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Economic Development, Social Sciences, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in finance and private sector engagement applied to climate change and sustainable development.

  • Prior experience working in financial institutions desirable.

  • Strong understanding of financial institutions and national financial environment, with basic knowledge of climate and nature issues.

  • Strong desk research, writing, and event planning skills.

  • Ability to work effectively, precisely, and autonomously in fast‑paced environments.

  • Ability to travel within country as needed.

  • Ability to work harmoniously in international teams, openness, flexibility, and ability to integrate feedback.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese required.
