    Purpose:

  • To inculcate in staff the knowledge, attitude and behavior needed to drive institutional gender transformation. It is also aimed at equipping programme staff with the knowledge and skills of gender responsive /transformative programme planning, implementation and monitoring.

    How can you make a difference?

    Scope of Work:

  • The consultant/s shall undertake the following tasks

  • Assess the levels of staff knowledge, attitude, behavior as well as programming skills and learning needs of the different categories and levels of staff on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. While this is aimed at gauging the level of gender consciousness for all staff, knowledge and skills on programming for gender equality shall also be assessed for relevant programme staff.

  • Using the outcome of the staff survey, design the outline of the training, learning outcomes by target audience, methods of delivery, the tasks and timeframe of sessions and overall training implementation plan.

  • Develop the training content, learning and facilitation materials including power points, handouts, exercises. All materials need to be adapted to the specific needs of participants as necessary.

  • Implement the trainings as per the agreed implementation plan.

  • Evaluation: Conduct a pre and post training to assess the effectiveness of the training and change in gender equality knowledge and awareness among training participants.

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in social sciences, gender studies, human rights, development studies or any other similar field

  • A minimum of Eight(8) Years of relevant professional experience in social sciences, gender studies, human rights, development studies or any other similar
    field.

  • UNICEF would like to recruit a team of one national and one international consultant who fulfil the following criteria. Application can be submitted jointly or individually.

  • Strong technical skills in gender equality programming, research and training.

  • Substantive understanding and work experience in gender norms change and gender transformative approaches.

  • In-depth understanding of the cultural and gender and social norms context in Ethiopia

  • Demonstrated experience in using participatory training technics.

  • Some prior experience with UNICEF or UN agency in the area of capacity building on gender equality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Good command of digital technology and IT skills needed to deliver virtual trainings

  • Fluency in English both written and oral.

  • Financial Proposal for the consultancy work.

  • In the case of a joint application, a gender balance in the team preferable.

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
