Job Purpose

  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records in compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinate a responsive and efficient administration function .

    Key Result Areas

    The job holder will be responsible for:

    • Developing, planning and implementing goals and objectives for the Finance, Planning and Administration department, administering internal policies and procedures relating to departmental programmes;

    • Directing, overseeing and participating in the departmental program work plan;

    • Preparing budget and quarterly reports

    • Serving as the signatory to the Council Bank Accounts

    • Managing the preparation and maintenance of financial reports

    • Coordinating departmental processes

    • Advising Registrar on administrative matters

    • Coordinating staff recruitment, development and employee performance evaluation

    • Supervising administrative staff of the Council

    • Monitoring employee relations within the department

    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Qualifications

    • An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting option), BBA (Accounting option) or
    • Accounting and Finance

    • A Masters of Business Administration or Masters Degree in Public Administration

    • Full professional qualification in ICPAU

    Experience

    • Must have relevant
    experience of at least 3 years in a similar post
