Uganda Christian University Lecturer - Theology and Divinity - Jobs in Uganda

To carry out research, teaching, mentoring, supervision and administration within the Faculty

Responsibilities

Prepare Course outlines and content for all courses taught according to the University format.

Teaching and assessment of students in accordance with the University’s curriculum in areas allocated by the Dean of Faculty/Head of Department.

Prepare assessment tools and marking guides accordingly.

Evaluation of students in accordance with the University curriculum.

Participate in the invigilation and supervision of examinations to ensure that exams are done according to rules and regulations.

Teaching normal workload of 18 to 21 hours per semester.

Participation in regular academic and administrative meetings.

Supervising student’s on placements – internships, research papers and projects.

Advising and mentoring students on academic and other related issues.

Undertake research and participate in the academic life of the faculty.

Carry out research, teaching, mentoring, and administration within the Department.

Engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities.

Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.

Assist in the development of learning materials and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance

Supervising students’ placements, internships and research papers.

Ad-hoc administrative tasks including and not limited to participating in various student activities e.g. attending Faculty

board meetings.

Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Theology from a recognized institution of higher learning.

Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Divinity from a recognized institution of higher learning.

At least two (2) years of university teaching at the level of Assistant Lecturer or three (3) years of service at Tutorial Assistant Level.

Must have at least one scholarly article or publication OR should have undertaken at least one research project/ paper.

Must be a person of high integrity.

6. Must be a mature and committed Christian preferably an ordained minister of the Anglican church.
