TPO Uganda is a local Ugandan NGO that has been operating in the country for 25 years. Our programs comprise interventions organised around the following themes: Care and protection of ovc, child protection, livelihoods support, mental health and psychosocial support response and prevention of all forms of violence against women and children as well as emergency response and humanitarian action.

TPO Uganda is active in 33 districts in the country and is a member of several partnerships and coordination mechanisms in the country TPO Uganda is now seeking applications for the following positions for a prospective transition award by USAID.

All positions will be based in our Mbarara regional offices and candidates must be willing and ready to live and work in the region.
Position: Regional Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL) Manager 04RME/Nov.19

Reporting to Chief of Party I

Location Mbarara

The proposed Regional MEAL Manager will have responsibility for al monitoring, evaluation and research activities associated with the project.

You will establish and/or enhance integrated OVC data management systems that feed Into OVCMIS, and other PEPFAR OVC data management frameworks.

The successful candidate wil demonstrate impeccable technical expertise managing highly complex OVC databases, supporting collection and indicator based reporting, PEPFAR target monitoring and supporting local partners acquire necessary capacity in monitoring, evaluation and learning. .

Person Specifications:

  • Master's Degree or higher in monitoring and evaluation, public health, demography, health management social science, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field is required.
  • S/he must have at least 8 years of experience supervising monitoring, evaluation and research efforts, preferably with respect to programs targeting OVC households, child welfare and protection systems strengthening, capacity building, economic strengthening, and service delivery.
  • The candidate must have strong quantitative or mixed-method and analytical skills and ability to articulate OVC, DREAMS technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • S/he must have strong skills using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access, and at least one data management software program (SAS SPSS) and experience training others in its use is highly desirable.
  • S/he must have demonstrated leadership qualities, depth and breadth of technical and management expertise and experience, and strong interpersonal, writing, oral presentation skills
  • S/he must possess demonstrable ability to support data users in data utilisation, research to practice and application for improved OVC program performance monitoring and improvement.
