Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Part II of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or equivalent qualification.

  • Certificate in relevant computer accounting packages.

  • Shown merit and competence in work performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Planning & Cash Flow

  • Prepare weekly cash flow statements for short‑term liquidity forecasts and planning.

  • Maintain imprest registers and ensure surrenders are submitted on due dates with verified documentation.

    Ledger & Journal Management

  • Compile and post general ledger information and financial transaction summaries.

  • Prepare journal entries for cash, revenue, and expense activities with proper coding.

  • Perform timely month‑end closings, analysis, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

    Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and other required reports.

  • Adjust trial balance to include accruals, payments, depreciation, and other adjustments.

  • Resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations.

    Accounts Receivable & Audit Support

  • Monitor accounts receivable and provide supporting schedules, reconciliations, and explanations for auditors.

    Expenditure & Payment Processing

  • Verify expenditure before preparing payment vouchers, cheques,
    and remittance of payments.

    Reconciliation & Documentation

  • Carry out bank, account, and cash reconciliations.

  • Prepare lead schedules, trial balances, and other required schedules.

  • Reconcile statutory levy records and asset registers with the general ledger.

  • Maintain, store, and secure financial and accounting documents.
