CLA/Knowledge Management Adviser (South Africa)

The Mitchell Group, Inc., an international development consulting firm based in Washington, DC, is currently is seeking expressions of interest from qualified CLA/Knowledge Management Adviser candidates to propose for an upcoming activity providing monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning support to USAID/South Africa programs.Position Description:The CLA/Knowledge Management Adviser will provide leadership, guidance and overall direction to the Mission’s collaboration, learning and adapting efforts. The adviser will plan and state organizational reflection and learning opportunities, such as special studies, after action reviews, and partners’ meetings, organizational learning surveys to facilitate overall CDCS implementation.
The Adviser will assist with incorporating research design and methodologies in the application of learning to project design and management.
S/he will guide iterative course corrections and ensure ongoing and evolving alignment of the portfolio with Mission Strategy.
S/he will work with the Program Office and Mission management to refine and implement the Mission’s learning agenda and CLA strategy, e-sharing and learning tools, to include outcome mapping.
S/h will assist in the re-orientation of key staff’s “activity” orientation to holistic program management and to foster peer and cross-learning techniques and opportunities.
· Organizing an annual CLA Summit, which brings together academia, civil society, donors and government to review all analyses, research, and evaluations completed in the previous year and to make adaptation recommendations
· Organizing a speaker series which introduces USAID staff to promising innovators, researchers, and solution holders implementing activities in South Africa
This position requires the following minimum requirements:
A minimum of a Master’s Degree or higher in one or more fields related to organizational learning or development assistance such as public, business or development administration, knowledge management, political science, economics, development studies or closely related, inter-disciplinary fields;
Progressively responsible, professional-level experience in organizational or action learning, development and/or knowledge management;
Demonstrated understanding and experience in interpreting monitoring and evaluation analysis and subsequently developing and leading collaboration, learning and adapting programs among various stakeholders in international development contexts,
Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal presentation, and facilitation skills applied within multi-cultural
Fluency in English, written and spoken.

The Mitchell Group Geospatial Information Specialist Vacancies in South Africa
The Mitchell Group, Inc., an international development consulting firm based in Washington, DC, is currently is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Geospatial Information Specialist candidates to support in the provision of monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning to USAID/South Africa programs.
The Geospatial Information Specialist will conduct data analytics using geospatial technologies to inform development programming across the health sector of USAID/South Africa with a specific emphasis on research, data analytics, program design, and monitoring, evaluation and learning.
S/he will provide support to conduct spatial analysis and mapping services to advance USAID project planning, monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.
The potential tasks that the specialist will conduct are:
• Mapping pattern activities and service delivery sites throughout the country
• Utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) to analyze the relationship between USAID performance data and key outcomes of interest such
• Partnering with USAID/South Africa and/or the South African government to publish and/or present findings.
• Analyze data and make recommendations based on the findings.
• Uploading all data and reports to the DDL and DEC, respectively.
Education: Completion of bachelors degree in geography, urban and regional planning, or other relevant fields
A minimum of three (3) years of professional-level experience in geospatial data management, analysis, and cartographic production; performance monitoring and evaluation; and/or the analysis and interpretation of large amounts of data and experience working in international development is required.
Strong experience in data analytics
S/he must have excellent written and oral English skills.
The Specialist must have strong knowledge of GIS and mapping technology and visualization practices.
The candidate must have:
• Ability to apply geospatial technology for analyses related to public health primarily HIV/AIDS and TB
• Ability to apply geographic and data analysis to international development challenges, to inform solutions related to public health
