Job Description
  • NOC Operator – Cape Town

    Key Performance Areas
  • Operation of network and system monitoring systems for clients
  • Act on alarms and other associated commands or messages displayed on monitors / displays
  • Perform system administration tasks and maintain the database of monitored objects
    Health checks and compilation of reports.
  • Develop an awareness of a wide spectrum of IT technologies.

    Skills and Experience
  • Networking - N+ level
  • Microsoft Windows server - MCP level preferred or A+.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux systems
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills
  • First line support offered.
  • Relevant engineer and supervisor notified of out of line situations, via email, as soon as possible.
  • Engineer and supervisor kept informed of progress.
  • Improvements to health checks made on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitoring of outsource clients
  • Continuously monitoring of client's infrastructure, according to SLA.
  • Timeously responding to exceptions according to SLA.
  • First line support offered.
  • Relevant engineer and supervisor notified of out of line situations, via email, as soon as possible
  • Engineer and supervisor are kept informed of progress.
  • Patch and/or hot fix release testing completed.
  • New and current systems testing compared.
  • Monitoring centre kept neat and tidy at all times.
  • All hardware kept in good working condition to ensure high levels of productivity.
