Job Purpose

  • To develop, grow and manage corporate card and payments portfolio aligned to Standard Bank and Non Standard Bank Corporate, Commercial and Business Banking segment strategies through business development and distribution initiatives and optimal service delivery, while ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and governance requirements while providing sales and client centred business development related expertise to the team

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    • Financial projections and Sales Budgeting

    • Development of Industry related analysis in line with client solutions

    • Development of new segment and industry focused business pipeline aligned to existing and future related client solutions

    • Development of card and payment solutions business cases which include the understanding of the credit process, models and capabilities

    • Implementation of client onboarding with operations team to ensure processing of client transactions and other relevant client operations are in place

    • Drive measurable marketing (industry and campaign) initiatives related to business development strategic plan

    • Engage directly with client and third-party intermediaries to contribute to Diners Club business objectives

    • Develop thought leadership content to drive industry specific relevance

    Key performance measure

    • Strategy Contribution in line with Corporate Card Issuing strategy which includes providing subject matter expertise and strategic insights to the leadership to facilitate the achievement of the respective strategic objectives.

    • Business Development strategy ownership, which includes identifying, development and capturing business opportunities with existing and new clients with a mandate to open new doors, ensuring all undertaken meets Diners Club standards and all risk credit and compliance policies are observed. Oversee the pipeline within Corporate Card Issuing and assist relationship managers in converting opportunities

    • Product and Service development design and promotion of suitable product and services that meet the needs of clients and intermediaries, in conjunction the product development team

    • Credit Risk related Liaison to develop an effective relationship with the credit team in order to understand the credit risk process, models and capabilities, track/ record performance and other information relevant to the business development, while acting as a conduit between credit team and relevant relationship managers or clients.

    • Client Service management, ensuring exceptional levels of service is provided to clients by owning customer issues, keeping customers informed and ensuring all their requirements are met timeously and transactions processes efficiently, while adhering to the Diners Club customer service and customer experience standards.

    • Internal Stakeholder Engagement by fostering a collaborative and client focused relationship with all internal stakeholders to deliver solutions that are effective, pragmatic and risk appropriate

    • Credit
    Risk expertise, that provide guidance and support where necessary to other members of the relationship management and or support team in servicing their assigned relationships and assist where necessary, in improving their skills knowledge and performance

    • Financial Performance, that ensure objectives and other targets and development programmes are recorded, monitor financial performance versus budget while ensuring all activities are conducted in line with the approved strategy and report on the progress of objectives as required by the Diners Club.

    • Risk and Compliance responsibilities including identifying and managing business risk by maintaining awareness of and ensuring compliance with the anti-money laundering laws, applicable regulations and legislation and adherence to standard, policies and procedures. Ensure proper record keeping within the customer relationship management system, while adhering to applicable acts.

    • Best Practice by keeping abreast with card and payment industry best practice and latest developments, changes of relevant laws and regulations and their implications for the assigned region. Incorporate such into daily work practices and decision making to maintain legal and risk compliance, as well as positive client experience.

    • Continuous Improvement by monitoring and consolidating client feedback and provide recommendations to relevant stakeholders and the Head of Corporate Card Issuing. Identify and assist with the implementation of new procedures to enhance profitability, improve customer service, office efficiency and minimise risk.

    Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum qualifications Honours Degree.

  • FAIS compliant Yes – Non customer facing.

    Knowledge

    • AS 400 or similar.

    • Computer literacy.

    • Code of Banking Practice.

    • Understanding of the Diners Club & Credit Card business.

    • Understanding of financial prudence & risk management.

    • Good sales & marketing skills.

    • Results driven.

    • High level of attention to details & accuracy.

    Experience

    • 5-7 years with relevant experience in broad product and business development environment with at least 3 years in sales related role.

    • 1-2 years in relationship management experience with a requirement of industry related analysis experience.
