    Job Purpose

  • To gather and analyse relevant information and insights pertaining to a selected portfolio of high value Agribusiness clients in support of building and developing strong business relationships and managing credit risk.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    Drive business and revenue growth for selected portfolio

  • Assists the Agribusiness teams with effective on-boarding for selected portfolio of customers, that results in active and profitable customer relationships by ensuring appropriate acquisition targets in terms of risk appetite, industry exposure, agricultural potential in the region and risk.

  • Visits and compiles client reports for Agribusiness customers in support of new and increased facilities.

  • Supports the Head: Agribusiness (Client Co-ordinator) and Relationship Managers in the expansion of existing agric portfolios by maintaining close and frequent contact with them and customers to analyse and establish ongoing needs and to assist clients to better understand their financial requirements.

  • Supports the Head: Agribusiness (Client Co-ordinator) in all aspects of Agribusiness that influence the revenue growth of the agricultural segment, including resources, advances and service fees through provision of detailed and relevant insights and analysis.

  • Identifies and actions opportunities for cross- and up sell.

    Lending and risk management

  • Assists the Head: Agribusiness (Client Co-ordinator) with complex deal structuring ensuring that credit risk is identified and contained within Agribusiness risk appetite.

  • Through specialised Agribusiness insights, skills and industry networks, creates an information rich environment, provides input into CRC meetings and feedback to the Head: Agribusiness (Client Co-ordinator) to identify risk early and provide possible provisions.

    Customer experience

  • Provides an information service through presenting on different Agribusiness clients and other role players within the Agric industry and presents case studies for information sharing and strategy formulation purposes to the Head:
    Agribusiness (Client Co-ordinator) and broader Relationship Managers in general.

  • Conducts appropriate interactions with customers to analyse and identify needs and to assist customers to better understand their financial requirements.

  • Conducts follow-up and/or information gathering visits to high-value existing- and targeted clients in support of the Head: Agribusiness (Client Co-ordinator) contact management strategy.

  • Ensures that client analysis is produced within agreed SLA. Provides high quality specialist input into credit applications for the Commercial Agribusiness segment.

  • Promotes brand appeal at Industry and corporate leader level, ensuring co-attendance and interaction at the appropriate industry and Agribusiness forums.

    Risk and compliance

  • Ensures quality client analytics and agribusiness specialist input is provided to guide credit and business risk decisions.

  • Completes all compliance training within laid down timelines.

  • Drives and implements the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) to ensure adherence to record keeping and data privacy requirements.

  • Ensures compliance to all applicable legislative requirements such as National Credit Act (NCA), Companies Act, Consumer Protection Act (CPA), etc.

  • Adheres to all internal risk related policies and guidelines.

    Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Business Commerce Degree.

  • Commerce graduate, preferably BAcc (Chartered Accountant) B Com (financial management) or BSc Agric (Economics).

  • Chartered Accountant is an advantage.

  • A valid driver’s licence.


  • 5-7 Years Relevant experience in diverse agricultural businesses, property valuation, economic and credit principles. Experience in analysing Agric industry and customer trends.

  • Experience in preparing and motivating client analysis in support of credit applications is essential for arbitration purposes; experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and sales management is essential
