Job Purpose

  • To implement, scale and commercialise the business client value proposition/s and business life journeys (e.g., enterprise banking, direct, sector, etc.) at a local market level through the client engagements platforms, delivered through multi-disciplined squads. To transform the local market to a platform business and drive the people and culture change requirements.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Establishes multi-disciplinary squads by integrating several capabilities (e.g., segment, sector, enterprise, Credit, Client Solutions, etc.) for the successful delivery of client needs. Ensures that a customer’s holistic value chain is understood and solved for.

    • Ensures that Ecosystems is embedded as a way of work within Client Service Teams to ensure that the shared client goals for Consumer and HNW, Business, Commercial and Wholesale Client segments are achieved at a local market level.

    • Implements and drives the agreed client value metrics pertaining to Horizon 1, 2 and 3 for the local market and manages these at a relationship manager level, where applicable.

    • Partners with Client Solutions and 3rd Party partners and ecosystems for the delivery of integrated multi-products and services for the client.

    • Drives a key focus on client relationships, client experience and operational efficiency.

  • Leverages local market knowledge and a local market mind-set, managing and taking accountability for performance within the local market. Identifies and capitalises on market opportunities to deliver a multi-channel/product client experience and drive client growth.

    • Identifies and reviews non- profitable customers and puts measures in place to improve profitability.

    • Designs and implements customer retention strategies aimed at ensuring retention of valuable or profitable customers. This includes defining an end to end process
    of managing customers that are at risk of leaving Standard Bank, as well as identifying proactive retention strategies and processes for existing valuable customers.

    • Designs and implements customer acquisition strategies aimed at ensuring acquisition of valuable or profitable customers. This includes defining an end to end process of acquiring clients to ensure that all relevant capabilities e.g. client solution specialists, sector s

  • Ensures adherence to risk management and governance standards for the continued sustainability of the local market.

    • Develops appropriate recovery and resolution plans to protect the local market from any untoward event.

    • Drives satisfactory audits and ensures that there are no repeat unsatisfactory findings as gauged by operational losses.

    • Operates within the defined client risk appetite and framework which is signed off by Business and Commercial Clients in conjunction with Risk.

    • Implements and monitors risk management for local market (e.g., operational risk, credit risk, ecosystems risk and partner risk management).

    Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • FAIS Qualification (RE5 and RE1); Essential Qualifications - NQF 8.

  • Business Commerce degree.
