    Job Purpose

  • Aides in the design of new products through the delivery of customer (internal and external) insights.

  • Assists in the development and enhancement of new and existing products.

  • Partners with the team to digitize, manage and monitor products across all lines of the UFSO.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities


  • Continuously enrich and enhance understanding of target market customers by scanning the external environment; internal behavioral information and research conducted in the bank.

  • Identify and understand competitor activities to add value to new products during the design and analysis stages

  • Present comprehensive information to key stakeholders at an appropriate level of relevant detail to facilitate insight and decision making.

  • Present information graphically in the form of well-structured presentations that include graphs, trends, etc. with key business takeout’s and well-motivated quantified business benefit in order to aide in the prioritization of new product and feature demand

  • Assess customer needs against the Shari’ah demand to determine whether the product features and benefits are still relevant.

  • Provide these findings as input for consideration when developing and/or enhancing products.

  • Produce and present insights based on quantitative analytics, supported by research and actionable recommendations for key initiatives as identified by the product manager/broader team

  • Build and maintain a list of key stakeholders and business partner relationships that can be leveraged for delivery of appropriate insights.

  • Assist with the execution of product specific marketing for product/customer acquisition and client experience as it relates to new products launched.

  • Partner with ALM team to ensure new products are integrated into all reporting tools (Example: Signal/PMT)

  • Strong execution focus on all Acquisition campaigns

  • Ensures excellent and consistent customer experience across all channels

    Risk, Reg, Prudential and Compliance

  • Ensures that all formal Shari’ah certification for new products are updated.

  • Considers existing policies and procedures when providing input into design and testing of different approaches during the concept and design stages of product development to not incur additional operational, credit and market risk.

  • Keep abreast of new legislation and the possible impact on the portfolio of products.

  • Adhere to governance policies and compliance requirements – SBSA and Shari’ah requirements

    Technology and Architecture

  • Integrate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop the appropriate digitised solution end to end.

  • Provides input into MVP (minimum viable product) options: i.e. assessments (based on desirability, viability and feasibility) and recommendations.

  • Establishes quick win automations from target state features


  • Analyze SBSA macroeconomic data (to provide input into the definition and articulation of commercially viable opportunities within the target market.

  • Provide information in a format that is easily understood and applied to support the business objective of achieving target market share and profitability growth.

  • Input is used by the Manager: Product to enable a clearly defined approach to product pricing, servicing, channel and contact strategies.

  • Distribute insights / management information periodically (on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis) through a structured reporting process to support business decision making at the business unit level.

    Minimum Qualification and Experience


  • Minimum qualificaiton: Post Graduate Degree in Information Technology or Business Commerce


  • Minimum 2 years' exposure to Product development and maintenance within a client solutions environment

  • Minimum 2 years exposure to Product Development and maintenance across core banking systems.
