The hospital is located at Wolisso town of south west Shoa zone, Oromia regional state, Ethiopia.
It is a general hospital with 200 beds providing a secondary level health service to the population of south west Shoa zone and a referral hospital for health centers and primary hospitals in the zone.
Secure the best possible practice in the orthopaedics according to approved standards.
Perform professional medical services in the examination, diagnosis, care and treatment of patients, within the limits of experience and professional training..
Provide appropriate patient instruction and/or consultation with family or significant other, as needed.
Record examination, diagnosis and treatment notes, meeting record documentation requirements.
Provide clearly written orders, and be available to nursing staff for direction, support and clarification of the medical plan of care.
Attend Medical Staff Meetings as designated.
Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, organizational, and departmental statutes, standards, policies, and procedures.
Participate in review and revision of relevant policies, procedures manuals, and protocols.
Provide direct and /or supervisory anesthesia care (pre-operative, operative, and post-operative) that meets nationally recognized standards.
Perform General orthopedic surgery with the ability to incorporate a portion of subspecialty interests/training.
Implement the national guideline on Saving Lives Through Safe Surgery (SaLTS) initiative.
Provide continuous on the job training for all the staff of Emergency, orthopedic and operation theatre departments and promote the organisation of ad hoc training based on identified needs.
Organise regular meeting with orthopedic case team members.
Monitor the post-surgery infection rate.
Maintain constant, open communication with the other clinical staffs and hospital management.
Be available to take up new responsibilities within the range of his professional profile in case hospital management activates new initiatives and project activities in the Hospital.
Provide a monthly report on the activities Sign in and out from duty according to the approved procedure.
Required Education & Experience
the candidate must hold the Degree in Medicine and must have completed an Orthopedic Medical Residency and an Orthopedic
Subspecialty Fellowship and a preferable minimum of three (2) years’ experience in the field.
Fluent in speaking English and Amharic and preferably Oromifa
Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2010, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Strong communication, presentation and public speaking are required.
Strong interpersonal, motivational, networking and public relations skills.
Positive coordination and relationship with partners and other hospital staffs.
Creativity, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to succeed.
