Position Background

  • SIHA is seeking a Technical Programme Advisor, for its programs in Sudan. The person will be responsible for developing ideas and plans across SIHA’s core Strategic goals in the region, along with team members in the region and at SIHA. This position will be highly dynamic and requires excellent program management skills, management and leadership skills, analytical thinking and decision-making ability. Other important aspects of this position include supporting strategy development and program monitoring, evaluation and learning, assisting in resource development vis-à-vis the programs and representing the organization in different fora. The Technical Programme Advisor will be expected to work closely with SIHA Sudan programme coordinator, The SIHA programme manager and the Head of finance and administration, in addition to SIHA Sudan programme teams and the SIHA regional MEL team.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • To effectively support a diverse team of staff, build their capacity and suggest to management needs for growth and strengthening of MEL

  • To contribute to SIHA programmes planning and development and identify tools for effective projects implementation;

  • Support the team to undertake project management techniques and adaptation to local context

  • Provide in house trainings and mentor staff while undertaking reporting and documentation

  • Provide support to the SIHA Sudan programme coordinator on coordination

  • To establish mechanisms to review SIHA publications, such as reviewing of reports, contribute to SIHA news bulletins, bi annual journal, booklets, and website in collaboration with SIHA Regional team;

  • To Support SIHA team to reviews and comprehend projects agreements and the terms of funding in collaboration with the SIHA Head of finance and administration;

  • Support the team to develop planning tools where all project reports are prepared on time as well as contribute to their preparation with the SIHA team in Sudan and Regional office;

  • Ensure that the quality of project activity implementation is in line with the project objectives and of value and that all project activities are implemented in a professional manner;

  • Contribute to the development of policy papers, statements and briefing that would need to be produced by SIHA out of Ethiopia office;

  • Review research and information gathering and analyses methods of relevance to SIHA work in Sudan;

  • Perform any additional work-related tasks assigned.

  • SIHA is looking for a self-motivated programme advisor, with strong orientation on gender equality women rights concepts and a praxis. She or he should have a solid experience of working in conflict and post conflict areas and with societies in transition. With at least seven years of direct project management experience and solid understanding of project management cycle. The applicant for this post she should be willing to relocate to Khartoum -Sudan.
