Senior Engineer - Instrumentation & control Jobs in Kenya


Job Specification

  • Plan and ensure all scheduled maintenance of equipment and systems is carried out on time.

  • Ensure break down maintenance is carried out without any delays.

  • Recommend spares to be purchased for either stock or immediate use.

  • Prepare preliminary specifications for equipment to be purchased.

  • Develops maintenance procedures.

  • Write regular maintenance reports to the Chief Engineer (I&C).

  • Assign and supervise maintenance works within the region.

  • Maintain maintenance records for the region or area.

  • Report to the Chief Engineer (I&C) on maintenance issues of the region as appropriate.

  • Liaise with other maintenance departments to carry out cross cutting maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure sufficiency of tools for daily maintenance works.

  • Assist in preparation of tender specifications.

  • Assist in tender evaluations.

  • Supervise projects implementation.

    Person Specification

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or recognized equivalent.

  • Minimum six (6) years relevant experience.

  • Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks iv. Proficiency in Computer applications

  • Registered and licensed with EBK as a professional Engineer.

  • Membership to IEK

  • Demonstrated competence in work performance and results

    Key Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of engineering aspects in Oil/gas Industry including broad knowledge of local and international standards.

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in handling and determining Civil Engineering issues, sound analytical skills and the ability to identify with precision the critical factors of
    a problem in an impartial and objective way.

  • Ability to maintain professional status and keep abreast of evolving trends in engineering.

  • Proficiency in Computer Applications.

  • Demonstrate technical expertise in risk management, quality assurance as well as monitoring and evaluation.

  • Ability to empower staff through coaching and counselling by emphasizing accountability and results oriented management rather than direct supervision.

  • Strong well developed communication and interpersonal skills including ability to prepare relevant reports.

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in handling and determining Civil Engineering issues, sound analytical skills and the ability to identify with precision the critical factors of a problem in an impartial and objective way.

  • Ability to deliver KPC’s articulated vision for change.

  • Ability to establish flexible multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to handle and emergency response situation and team as well as handling safety oversight roles.
