Save the Children Lead, Movement Development & Quality Standards Jobs in Kenya



Role Purpose

  • Lead the development and management of innovative operating models, building organisational capacity, providing technical expertise, and facilitating adoption of fit‑for‑purpose models.

  • Contribute to building a strong quality culture and ensuring one global quality standard across Save the Children.

  • Join the Strategy, Planning and Movement Development Global Team to lead operating models work, building capacity, facilitating adoption, and strengthening quality culture.

  • Design and roll out effective solutions informed by user feedback, data, and evolving organisational needs.

  • Manage complex initiatives and adapt country‑level entity operating models in an international NGO context.

    Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead planning and delivery of operating models work, evolving and strengthening models across the movement.

  • Identify and prioritise critical operating model gaps with stakeholders, driving resolution at global level.

  • Manage operating model updates in line with user feedback, shifting contexts, and organisational needs.

  • Identify interdependencies and ensure operating models support organisational priorities and country strategies.

  • Facilitate geopresence work through adaptation of operating models to local contexts and development of resources.

  • Promote best practices and promising operating models that achieve optimal results.

  • Facilitate confident, effective, and autonomous operating model practices by implementing offices and stakeholders.

  • Design and deliver capacity‑building support for global teams and implementing offices.

  • Develop and improve resources providing technical and practical guidance for adoption and management of operating models.

  • Provide technical support to stakeholders and networks, including in high‑risk/high‑complexity cases.

  • Support work to strengthen quality, organisational development, and governance across the movement.

  • Lead or support delivery of Movement Development and Quality
    Standards initiatives and workstreams.

  • Align operating models with quality and mutual accountability frameworks.

  • Contribute to improvements in SCI’s and the movement’s quality standards to build a strong quality culture.

  • Provide technical expertise to drive good governance, shared learning, and streamlined reporting.

    Experience and Skills – Essential

  • Proven experience in developing and driving innovative solutions, resources, and processes to meet user needs.

  • Experience building capacity of diverse stakeholders using different techniques.

  • Experience defining, designing, and evolving/adapting operating models, preferably in non‑profit contexts.

  • Strong project and change management experience, including leading cross‑functional teams.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship‑building skills.

  • Experience solving complex issues through analysis and clear resolution pathways.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to distil complex concepts into simple messages.

  • Fluency in English essential; proficiency in other SCI working languages desirable.

    Desirable

  • Experience working in large, complex international NGOs and/or insight into country office settings.
