The Opportunity:
Save the Children International are currently recruiting two field-based Programme Coordinators to oversee the field level coordination of partners, ensure the programme is on track and meets targets, and manage the relationships with district level stakeholders.
Save the Children leads the Uganda NGO Education Consortium, an innovative model for programming education in emergencies.
The objective of the Education Consortium is to coordinate and harmonise NGO support to the Education Response Plan for Refugees and Host Communities.
The Education Consortium manages and coordinates two large education in emergencies grants: i) Education Cannot Wait - $10.5 million per year over 3 years; ii) ECHO include – 12 million Euros over 3 years.
He/she will be responsible for day to day oversight and successful implementation of programmes implemented through the NGO Education Consortium.
In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
Post-graduate degree in education planning and management or a related field with additional training project planning and management techniques
Knowledge of current global and regional debates on quality education policies and models
Proven experience of developing and managing high quality, innovative and cost-effective technical education projects in complex environments and with International NGOs
Prior experience working in consortium structures and projects, or in consortium / programme management units
Demonstrable experience of project management, including budget management, M&E and reporting
Proven experience and skills in research and advocacy and influencing institutional, private and/or corporate donors and writing up high quality donor
reports
Experience of working with local/national governments and capacity building of systems, partners and staff
Ability to extensively travel for project monitoring and provide on-site technical support to field teams
