  • We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for a Back Office IT O365 Engineer within the Technology Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Detailed Description

  • Reporting to the Manager, Back Office IT O365, the position holder will design, build and deliver on office IT O365 setup that will serve as Safaricom end users. The platform will be used to continuously deliver on Safaricom’s Back Office IT operations and ensure communication and collaborations across teams.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Design, architect and build Microsoft 365 Solution for Office use.

  • Mediate and coordinate resolution of software project deliverables using agile methodology

  • Develop analytical platforms that will be used to avail data to end users for exploration, advanced analytics and visualizations for day-to-day business reporting

  • Provide guidance and advise to technology teams on the best use of latest Microsoft 365 Features and technologies enhancing productivity.

  • Develop automated monitoring solutions for monitoring the usage and healthy Status of Microsoft 356 Platform and ensuring stability across all users.

  • Receive escalated, technical User complaints, and maintain ownership of the issue until it is resolved

  • Hands on to troubleshoot incidents, formulate theories and test hypothesis, and narrow down possibilities to find the root cause.

  • Provide leadership and people management aspects to the team and partner supporting the Microsoft Platform across different business teams.

  • Define Microsoft 365 road maps, components expansion and number growth depending on business needs.

  • Support all Microsoft 365 related issues form End users and ensuring excellent service across business functions.

  • Develop tools, and scripts to automate troubleshooting activities and process simplification with ‘Do It Yourself’ capabilities to the end users.

  • Upgrading products/services and applying patches as necessary.

  • Maintaining backup and restoring user services and Reports repositories.

  • Research and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality improvements for various software applications.

  • Formulate end user budget requirements for the entire business and prepare paperwork as is appropriate.

  • Employ cost saving initiatives around Microsoft 365 for all business teams.

    Job Requirements

  • BS or MS in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.

  • ITIL Certifications or Equivalent.

  • Microsoft Certification: MCSE, MCSA, MCP

  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft 365 Platform, architecture and functionality.

  • Experience in Virtualized systems

  • Experience in Microsoft SCCM and related software Deployment tools

  • IT Projects Management.

  • 3-4years’ experience as a senior support analyst in a User Support environment.

  • Experience in Capex and Opex Management

  • Experience in Supplier Management, IT Support Services sourcing and contract cost monitoring & Agreements Maintenance

  • Good stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent People Skills.

  • People Management.

  • Solution Oriented.
