Job Purpose / Objectives:

  • Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Floor Manager is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and good hygienic conditions of the Processing house by ensuring that sanitation and hygiene standards are adhered to at all time, monitoring and coordination of process house operations in line with set targets and

    Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Assessing material requirements

  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with the Production manager.

  • Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements including health and safety standards.

  • Keep an inventory of defects, finished goods, equipment and all accessories in process house

  • Determining quality control standards

  • Ensuring production process is carried out with the highest efficiency and minimal wastage

  • Negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary

  • Ensuring Selecting, sorting and grading of raw materials is carried out as per the set quality standards

  • Organising the repair and preventive maintenance of production equipment by conforming to the maintenance schedule

  • Supervising the team under his/her jurisdiction.

  • Identifying training gaps and organising relevant training to enhance the performance of the team

  • Plan, forecast and execute coconut milk, cream and oil orders.

  • Scheduling shifts, and calling in workers when there is a gap in shift coverage. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  • Monitoring, supervising and analysing of Production logs. This should be filed to be used as reference points.

  • Ensuring that the highest level of hygiene and sanitation is adhered to at all times. Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

  • Maintains
    work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

  • Communicate and build strong relationships with factory team

  • Forecast, hire, train, oversee and manage the members of staff

  • Monitor the achievement of KPIs and targets and advice production manager on corrective measures

  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

    KPI’s

  • Actual production – Ratio of actual production to the production costs incurred; the objective should be to attain high productivity at minimum incremental costs.

  • Quality – consistency in quality across all production control points through to the final product.

  • Performance/ targets – Ability to possess and utilize essential information to optimize production machinery efficiencies.

  • Percentage downtime – Monitors the ability to optimize processes and to improve production times and outputs.

  • Availability – both of machines and the supervisors; the supervisor should ensure they are available to improve visibility across all departments and to collect real time insights into machine operations.

  • Responsiveness – reaction to risks and quality control gaps identified and reported by the QC.

  • Adherence to documented policies and SOPs.
