Job Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing of Laboratory services

• Managing sales of Company services for key large scale commercial farmers around Mkushi area in Zambia who are doing Broad acre crops. Key products/tests in focus will be Soil, Deep Nitrogen, Plant /leaf, Pathology, Water, Nematodes, fertilizers tests etc.

• Carry out farmer focus activities like scheduled farm visits, presentation of company services, sampling, and presentation of results including after sales follow up to ensure clients retention.

• Carrying out sampling, preparing samples and Coordination and follow up with dispatch and logistic team in the company to assist in shipping of the samples to Kenya for analysis.

• Coordinate and communicate with HQ office support team including sales manager, Business development manager, sample logistics and credit control to ensure customers account management is done right in terms of right documentation, price negotiations, payments and credit management is efficiently done.

• Carry out product development activities in close coordination with marketing and Business development team to help develop broad laboratory services portfolio including demos, trials trainings and field days.

• Represent the company at key agricultural sector stakeholder meetings and industry events including field days, exhibitions and trainings.

• Support Technical
Manager in trials management, marketing related newsletters/articles and technical documentation

• Work closely with senior technical and laboratory management to constantly improve current lab services, and develop new innovative agronomy related services Customer Relations and Key Accounts management

• Build Trust and long term relationships with our customers (Mainly farmers), partners and stakeholders .

• Bringing feedback and queries from our customers and partners and act on it internally ensuring there is a correct and timely response.

Market Research

• Give a clear view of Industry dynamics ; a close collaboration with market research role and being up to date with market intelligence information that will help the company in planning and marketing strategies

Sample Logistics

• For the clients / accounts that the employee is handling, he/she will ensure that samples are collected, prepared and shipped to Kenya , follow up customer payments before the samples are delivered to Kenya and follow up for results and any concerns.

• Any other duties related to your role assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications

• BSC ( Agronomy, Horticulture or an agriculture related course)

• At least 2 years’ experience in Sales ,business development or Agronomy in related field

• Technical know-how in the field of crop production

• Customer oriented, sharp in finding and closing deals

• Good in building relationships at different clientele levels

• Required proficiency and knowledge in certain industry and relevant topics related to this Job
