    About The Role

  • The Editor will support Pezi Publisher's editorial team from its headquarters in Nairobi. They will be responsible for overseeing the entire editorial process, from commissioning authors and receipt of manuscripts to production of the final books ready for print. To achieve this, they will be required to work well with a team of authors, illustrators and other content creators. The Editor will report to the Chief Editor.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Proofread manuscripts and ensure there are no spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.

    • Ensure that the final content is in line with the curriculum designs and appropriate for the desired level.

    • Review material to ensure it is easy for readers to understand.

    • Ensure that all the content in the final book is factual.

    • Oversee the final design of the content (text, photos,
    illustrations and any digital content).

    • Liaise with all the team members (authors, illustrators and administrative staff) and ensure that all deadlines for the various stages in the editorial process are met.


    • At least two years of experience as an editor in Business Studies and Physical Education.

    • Experience developing content under the new CBC curriculum.

    • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Ability to work with different individuals and in teams.

    • Ability to plan and oversee a project from beginning to end.

    • A keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise tasks.

    • A degree or Diploma in a relevant field, preferably Education.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office.

    • Experience with Corel Draw is a plus.
