PATH seeks a Senior Technical Advisor, Social and Behavior Change for an anticipated USAID-funded social and behavior change (SBC) project in Uganda. The SBC project will result in the improved ability of individuals, households, and communities to adopt priority behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the project’s technical activities and staff.
  • Directly assist the Chief of Party in the design, implementation, and monitoring of SBC interventions while ensuring they are in accordance with the quality requirements of the project.
  • Promote learning within the project and with other USAID partners working in Uganda.
    Roll out SBC packages.
  • Lead the design, development, and production of effective social and behavior change strategies.
  • Collaborate in the monitoring of SBC activity performance as requested.
  • Contribute to drafting of project deliverables and communication materials including designing of annual work plans, budgets and periodic reports.

    Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in medicine, social sciences, public health, communications, or other relevant degree or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional experience working in mid to senior management positions.
  • A minimum
    of ten (10) years of professional experience in delivering Social and Behavior Change Communication and ten (10) years of progressively increasing responsibility working with health technical assistance programs or other health-related services.
  • Substantial experience in social and behavior change programming, including hands-on experience designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating behavioral interventions.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, depth and breadth of management expertise and technical experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in successfully engaging the private sector.
  • High level of interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of public and private sector counterparts and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent skills and experience in collaborative working relationships with senior-level government leadership.
  • Experience with integration of gender and youth analysis into health projects and services.
  • Oral and written fluency in English.
