Evangel Publishing House is a Christian firm, a business unit of Pan Africa Christian University, involved in both spiritual materials and school books production. Evangel seeks to recruit a responsible editorial assistant to assist in reviewing, editing, and revising the work of writers.
The editorial assistant will supervise the creation of content, illustrations and proofread books for better communication.
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelors’ degree in Education, publishing or a related field.
Proficiency in the Adobe suite and Microsoft word
One-year experience in textbook editing in a busy environment
Knowledge of the competency-based curriculum will be an added advantage
Excellent customer service skills
Highly self-motivated and self-disciplined
Key Responsibilities for the Editorial Assistant
Assisting in commissioning authors to write diverse content as per company policy.
Reviewing and revising content to improve communication and attract end users.
Preparing materials for publications for production through proofreading, editing and design.
Correcting errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
Reviewing proposals for books and advice on viability and profitability.
Checking
copy for style and readability.
Fact-checking content during substantive editing.
