    Position Overview and Role:

  • Palladium seeks a senior technical advisor - business development. This position is a corporate position that will operate from the Palladium office in Nairobi and will assist various business development efforts related to health service delivery, health systems strengthening, governance, finance, policy, capacity building and sustainability. The geographic focus is sub-Saharan Africa.

  • This position will develop partner relationships as well as relationships with government ministries, parastatal and UN organization. This position will help to identify key staff, analyze solicitation documents (RFPs, RFAs, and requests for concept notes), participate in scoping trips, and when required engaging in proposal development as a writer or by providing technical input.

  • The senior technical advisor - business development will also represent Palladium by participating in technical working groups, committees and other bodies that focus on service delivery and health systems strengthening.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop key institutional partnerships to support the advancement of Palladium’s health portfolios.

  • Identify and lead opportunities for collaborative pursuits in countries in Africa.

  • Provide technical input on health proposals, and when required write sections of proposals.

  • Lead technical proposals serving as lead writer.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key personnel candidates for identified opportunities.

  • Provide overall leadership to key project areas including coordination, technical assistance and overall strategy, field implementation, operations and compliance, risk management, USG, other donor and partner relationships and results dissemination.

  • Interact with current and potential clients, local organizations, and key stakeholders as needed.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of country level marketing and positioning strategies.

  • Assist in the development of portfolio level, country level, and bid specific marketing materials including case studies, fact sheets, blog posts, and capability statements.

  • Represent Palladium at local and regional forums and conferences.

  • Mentor local and regional Palladium Country Directors and CoPs on business development.

  • Contribute to quality knowledge management and sharing efforts; provide input and/or review of technical briefs highlighting.

  • Palladium’s work and achievements.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated blend of technical expertise in health service delivery and health systems strengthening.

  • Expertise in family planning, reproductive health, maternal and child health, infectious disease or another technical area required.

  • Successful track record leading capture and proposal development efforts for USAID bilateral acquisition and assistance opportunities.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of trends in relevant technical areas, donor initiatives and programs related to health services.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. This includes public presentations, proposals, client reports, and contribution to publications with varied target audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage working relationships with clients, partners, and technical experts.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time.

  • Prior field experience in USAID service delivery or health systems strengthening programs preferred.

  • Fluency in English required, fluency in French preferred.

  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the Teams collaborative site.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated leadership, business acumen, versatility, and integrity.

  • Work authorization to work in Kenya.
