Position Summary:

  • Reporting to the ES Coordinator, the Economic Strengthening Officer will be responsible for the implementation of strategies and activities to improve the economic stability of young people and households caring for vulnerable children and adolescents supported by USAID Empowered Youth Project I (EYP).

  • This includes coordination and provision of TA and support related Economic strengthening activities including training and mentoring of case workers in economic strengthening approaches, innovations, and models. Also ensure that ES component is linked to the project goal. .

    Specific Duties:

    • Plan and manage implementation of economic strengthening activities for the project.

    • Contribute to development and re-alignment of plans and budgets by Pact and Partners and ensure economic strengthening aligns with overall project objectives and operational guidelines

    • Coordinate with partners and sub partners in day to day management and implementation of economic strengthening portfolio in project sites

    • Review monthly economic strengthening financial reports to ensure adherence to IPs and budgets.

    • Represent Pact in Partner’s public events related to economic strengthening in consultation with the Economic Strengthening Coordinator

    • Support sub partners to ensure timely reporting, monitoring and analysis of results against set targets, and use of data to adjust implementation strategies as necessary.

    • Develop technical papers, presentations and reports to document economic strengthening implementation key achievements, best practices and lessons learned to share
    with donor and relevant stakeholders.

    • Perform other duties as requested.

    Basic Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Development Studies/Administration, Community Development, Economics or any related field

    • Training and knowledge in economic strengthening and empowerment activities for vulnerable children and adolescents and their households/caregivers.

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in both NGO and HIV environment and implementing PEPFAR programs

    • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in high profile, fast-paces environment.

    • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) technical issues effectively and persuasively.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively, think analytically and take initiative in solving problems

    • Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

    • Ability to travel to the field at 50%-60% of LOE
