Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that pre-trip and post-loading checklists are received from the loading team on a daily/weekly basis,

  • Establish and maintain good clientele relationship by ensuring that the drivers maintain high level of discipline and integrity and that clients’ cargo is delivered intact and as scheduled

  • Supervision of all aspects of Cargo logistics in the field operations areas

  • Ensure smooth shipment of all company related cargo and logistics process

  • Liaise with relevant officers or team members to ensure coordinated logistical services and support.

  • External interaction with Suppliers, warehouses, freight forwarding agents, contractors, customs authorities on all aspects of cargo movements,

  • Maintain a database or log of all consignments/cargo to ensure accurate reporting on weights, volumes, cargo status updates, amendments and delivery,

  • Smooth over peaks and valleys in customer demand through smarter scheduling without compromising safety and transport economics,

  • Track scheduling performance by comparing actual performance to the target,

  • Ensure that all relevant loading documents and receipts are submitted to the finance department without any discrepancies

  • Ensure that there is up to date route and site risk assessments for all customer/delivery locations,

  • Follow up and ensure all loading documents are availed in order to facilitate invoicing,

  • Follow up the consignees and verify their contacts details, locations and availability,

  • Follow up on product shorts or damages and ensure resolution of the same,

  • Prepare and present daily reports
    on truck & Cargo movement,

  • Assist with the physical loading as and when required,

  • Maintaining day to day internal controls,

  • Any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time

    Person Specification

  • 2 years cumulative working experience coordinating operational activities.

    The candidate will be expected to:

  • Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and co-operation,

  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues, both junior and senior,

  • Be creative and innovative in minimizing costs,
