One Acre Fund Tupande Controls, Health & Safety Specialist Jobs in Kenya; Lead internal controls design and manage health and safety for Tupande factories in Kenya.

Responsibilities

Food Safety & Product Integrity

  • Set up and run food safety systems (HACCP, FSSC 22000, GlobalG.A.P.).

  • Inspect operations with swab tests, chemical checks, and recall system tests.

  • Conduct surprise checks on cleaning, allergen controls, and germ prevention.

  • Investigate food safety problems and support corrective actions.

    Workplace Safety (OSHA)

  • Assess hazards and check machinery safety guards and shut‑offs.

  • Enforce rules for high‑risk areas (stacking heights, fall protection).

  • Ensure visitor safety briefings, PPE use, and liability waivers.

  • Audit plant safety and train staff.

    Sourcing & Supply Chain Quality

  • Ensure early crop checks for moisture, maturity, and cleanliness.

  • Calibrate field scales to prevent losses.

  • Reconcile inventory between field and factory.

  • Inspect trucks and crates for cleanliness and pest control.

    Financial Controls

  • Create and run control systems to protect company assets.

  • Monitor SOP compliance.

  • Investigate missing inventory or financial issues and follow up with managers.

    Career Growth & Development

  • Weekly check‑ins with manager, mentorship, and training programs.

  • Regular feedback and career reviews every six months.

    Qualifications

  • Strong work planning and organisation.

  • Ability to simplify complex topics.

  • Findings and report writing skills.

  • 3–5 years food processing audit experience.

  • 1–3 years OSHA factory safety experience.
