Qualification
Master’s degree in Economics, Applied Statistics, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
Minimum 3 years professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, and/or applied research.
Experience
Proficiency in Stata (required); R is a strong plus.
Experience with impact evaluation design and methods (PSM, DiD, RCTs).
Experience designing and programming surveys for mobile data collection (CommCare preferred).
Experience improving data quality assurance processes.
Experience working in Sub‑Saharan Africa and with smallholder agricultural programs strongly preferred.
Background in agriculture required; agroforestry/tree planting program experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
Country Portfolio Support
Serve as primary technical resource for country MEL Leads.
Review and strengthen survey instruments and data collection approaches.
Assess and improve data quality backcheck processes.
Review and advise on country‑level data analysis.
Quality‑control MEL deliverables and provide actionable feedback.
Help translate data into decision‑relevant insights.
Share learnings across portfolio and flag common challenges.
Evaluation Design & Methodology
Advise on evaluation design and review methodology.
Identify methodological gaps or risks in ongoing evaluations.
Contribute to global MEL standards, frameworks, and tools.
Global MEL Initiatives
Contribute to MEL trainings and capacity‑building programs.
Support development of shared tools, templates, and guidance documents.
Contribute to cross‑program
methodology projects and special initiatives.
Provide dedicated analytical support to Agroforestry portfolio.
Peer review cross‑country workstreams.

Advanced quantitative skills; proficiency in Stata required.

Willingness to travel within the region (10–25%).
