Old Mutual Kenya Unit Manager - Kimathi Branch Jobs; Oversee a unit responsible for recruiting and retaining sales agents to deliver set insurance sales revenue targets. Reports to the Branch/Sales Manager.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Deliver business plan targets including revenue, persistency, and business mix.

  • Recruit and retain agents.

  • Monitor and evaluate agent performance.

  • Set relevant plans and daily activity schedules for the unit.

  • Ensure agents have necessary support systems to deliver budgets.

  • Implement training programs to support skill development.

  • Open new markets and advise on opportunities/threats.

  • Enforce performance management processes.

  • Uphold brand image and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Empathetic listening ability.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Team building and leadership ability.

  • Sales and marketing expertise.

  • Market intelligence and business development skills.

  • Conflict resolution and time management skills.

    Knowledge & Experience

  • Successful track record in financial services sales, teaching, or related profession.

  • Demonstrable insurance sales experience as an agent.

  • Knowledge of Kenyan insurance legislation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in a business‑related course.

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience in insurance or financial services.

  • 2 years’ experience as a Unit/Agency Manager an added advantage.

  • COP Certificate required.

  • Current IRA license mandatory.
