Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

  • Served a cumulative number of fifteen (15) years relevant experience, three (3) of
    which should have been at the level of Senior Principal Administrative Officer DFP 5 and above origin a comparable and relevant position in the Public or Private Sector;

  • A Bachelors Degree in any Social Science or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • A Masters degree in any Social Science from a recognized institution;

  • Post graduate diploma in any Social Science or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Thorough understanding of national goals, policies and objectives and ability to relate them lo proper management of prosecution services;

  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;

  • Be a member of a recognized professional body.

  • Note: Possession of a Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • An officer at this level will head the Administration division and he/she will be responsible directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions professionally and administratively to the Head of Department. The officer may be deployed to any of the following Departments namely;

  • Central Facilitation Services.

  • Prosecutions Training Institute
    Specifically, duties and responsibilities will entail:-

  • Advise on general administrative issues and practices.

  • Oversee implementation of Administration Division strategy and align it to the overall ODPP Strategic Plan in order to provide timely service delivery to the institution, in the areas of security management, transport, and office management, to support the delivery of efficient and effective service by the institution

  • Coordinate the implementation of the divisional policies, procedures and manuals in order to ensure the deliverables are met against set timelines and quality standards Manage ODPP facilities (Buildings, equipment etc.) by planning and budgeting for maintenance for effective operation and service delivery.

  • Coordinate planning and implementation of all capital projects for the Office to ensure proper allocation and utilization of resources.

  • Coordinate the performance of outsourced services such as cleaning, security, catering, etc. to ensure that there is value for money.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of
    tools and processes that
    enhance efficiency in the delivery of transport services for the office, to enhance efficiency in the operations of the Office through timely and quality provision of transport services.

  • Coordinate office management services such as, lease and fleet management; to ensure delivery in a timely manner and with consideration to high quality standards, to support the delivery of the ODPP services in an efficient manner Development and coordination of the overall administrative division strategic plan, and the preparation and of the work plans, to ensure the operations of administrative division are directed towards the achievement of the ODPP mandate,

  • Supervise and manage staff matters to harnesses the strengths of individuals and
    promote their performances to ensure that the administration function in ODPP adopts and delivers consistent, reliable and high standards of customer service.

  • Manage funds and resources allocated to the division, to ensure prudent use of the resources and ta garner the trust of stakeholders in the ability of ODPP to deliver quality public prosecution services.

  • Coordinate implementation and management of occupational Health and Safety regulations and National Road Safety measures to ensure safety and health of staff.

  • Participate in activities aimed at mitigating HIV/AIDS. Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and other cross cutting issues.

  • Overseeing skill and capacity development of administrative staff in liaison with the Prosecutor Training Institute,

  • Participate in the formulation and dissemination of policies, programs and strategic
    plans in the Organization for efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Monitor and evaluate policies and procedures for the administration division that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of service in timely and cost efficient manner,

  • Deputize departmental meetings as and when need arises.

  • Participate in the recruitment, selection and promotion of administrative office personnel in ODPE,

  • Verify and analyze administrative Office service personnel data for postings and
    deployment with the ODPP for efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Coordinate preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Administration Division to inform decision making.

  • Maintain an up to date record of administrative Office personnel in the ODPP

  • Couch, mentor, guide and counsel Administrative staff to enhance productivity and
    succession Management.

  • Participate in the development of administrative programmes that enforce integrity
    and ethical conduct by staff, be enhance the image of ODPP, and to build the trust of stakeholders in the ability of OO PP to meet stakeholder expectations

  • Implement logistical support in all high level ODDP events and functions, to enhance the ODPP image and gain stakeholder confidence.
