Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: - Economics, Statistics, Economics
    and Mathematics, Economics and Statistics, Economics and Finance or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010; Integrity, Honesty and Accountability.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will be responsible to Economist/Statistician | for the assigned
    Economics Statistics function. Specifically, duties and responsibilities will entail:-

  • Provide input into the development of the departmental and divisional budgets arid costing;

  • Provide technical guidance in production, processing and dissemination of reports about trends of crime cases and case outcomes (judgements, rulings, sentencing etc), to provide accurate information for informed decision making in the ODPP;

  • Preparation of ODPP inputs to various National development plans as well as participation in development of these plans to articulate ODFP input;

  • Provide user assistance in the development of the department and division specific plans, to ensure the plans are aligned with the strategic objectives of ODPP;

  • Collect, collate and compile departmental Annual workplans (AWP) and ODPP Annual work plan;

  • Participate in the drafting of ODPP strategic plan and implementation ensure the Strategic Plan;

  • Participate in the development of tools, roll out and reporting of performance management system for ODFP;

  • Guide the preparation of the quarterly, mid-term and annual progress reports to gauge the implementation status of ODFF activities, programmes and projects;

  • Participate in public expenditure review to garner expertise in expenditure management and lo support the process;

  • Participate in the institutional performance management process, to ensure all operations at ODPP are directed towards the achievement of the ODFP overall objectives on service delivery;

  • Carryout Collection, Collation, analysis and dissemination of crime statistics/data to facilitate decision making to enhance delivery of public prosecution services;

  • Participate in production of various periodic surveys as and when required;

  • Assist in data entry, analysis report, generation and dissemination of statistical findings; and

  • Perform supporting activities in the data gathering process, such as preparing questionnaires or locating and screening suitable interview subjects.
