  • The Office of the Controller of Budget is an independent office established under Article 228 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 to oversee and report on the implementation of the budgets of the National and County Governments to each House of Parliament every four months.

  • Pursuant to Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution, the Office seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill the following vacant positions.

    Manager Finance/Accounts

  • Reporting to the Chief Manager Finance and Accounts, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining sound accounting procedures, policies and systems in line with generally accepted accounting standards.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of a sound financial management policy framework;

  • Ensure proper books of accounts are maintained;

  • Ensure timely preparation of budgets and periodic financial reports ;

  • Implement sound accounting policies, systems and procedures in line with generally accepted accounting standards;

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Oversee preparation of monthly cash flow statements and bank reconciliation statements;

  • Any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Chief Manager Finance/Accounts from time to time

    Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in either Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or
    its equivalent from a recognized university;

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Financial Management and Accounting;

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya ( CPA-K) and or its equivalent

  • Must be an active member of a relevant professional body with good standing

  • A Masters degree in either Business Administration, Finance or its equivalent from a
    recognized university will be an added advantage.

  • Team Player

  • Must be well versed with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Public Finance Management Act, 2012.

  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
