NITA Senior Industrial Trainer Assistant Jobs in Kenya

Reporting to Principal Industrial Training Officer, the job holder will be responsible for
conducting trainings in accordance with Industrial Training Act Cap 237.

Job Description

The Senior Industrial Trainer Assistant is responsible for the following;

i. Establish capacity for employers to train the apprentice;

ii. Preparing and organizing of training materials;

iii. Developing training plans;

iv. Implementing training plans;

v. Conducting training for Level-5 and below apprentices and Skills Upgrading
(SUG) trainees;

vi. Preparing assessment tools and materials;

vii. Marking of examinations, guiding and assessing trainees in their course
work;

viii. Supervising attachees during In-Plant training (in industry);

ix. Carrying out employer inspection activities if gazetted as inspectors;

x. Sensitizing employers on NITA functions;

xi. Vetting section work plans and budgets;

xii. Ensuring maintenance of training equipment in desired conditions;

xiii. Attending to inquiries on training in the Centre and;

xiv. Compiling data and critical information on training in the section.

Person Specifications
For appointment at this position, a candidate must have: -

i. Two (2) years relevant work experience.

ii. Higher National Diploma in any of the following disciplines: mechanical,
electrical/electronics, computer science, information communication
technology, automotive, building and construction, refrigeration and air
conditioning, agri-business, P.V. solar installation, hair dressing and beauty
therapy, textile, fashion & design, any other

occupational field or an
equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
OR

i. A minimum of four (4) years in relevant work experience;

ii. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: mechanical, electrical/electronics,
computer science, information communication technology, automotive, building
and construction, refrigeration and air conditioning, agri-business, P.V. solar
installation, hair dressing and beauty therapy, textile, fashion & design, any other
occupational field or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

iii. Minimum KCSE C- (minus) or its equivalent.

iv. Be in possession of instructor’s training course of not less than 4 weeks or an
equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

v. Proficiency in computer applications;

vi. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution; and

vii. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
