Nairobi Hospital Locum- Specialist Radiologist Jobs; Review, interpret, and report on radiological images to provide accurate diagnosis in line with established protocols and hospital standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ medical histories to identify potential risks from imaging procedures and recommend alternatives where appropriate.

  • Explain imaging processes to patients and address relevant requirements.

  • Perform and interpret x‑ray, ultrasound, mammogram, CT, and MRI examinations, providing technical guidance for diagnosis and treatment.

  • Guide radiology staff in image‑guided diagnostic procedures per established protocols.

  • Interpret diagnostic imaging results to determine accurate diagnoses.

  • Discuss findings and diagnoses with referring physicians.

  • Compile diagnostic reports on test results.

  • Respond to emergency situations (e.g., resuscitations, bleeding, infections) in line with medical protocols.

  • Participate in radiology‑related research and departmental protocol development/review.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

    Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Radiology from a recognised institution.

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a recognised institution.

  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council and valid practising licence.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ practising experience in Radiology.

  • Ability to review and interpret radiographic images.

  • Imaging skills including x‑ray, mammography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, MRI, and CT scan.

  • Ability to develop and ensure implementation of radiology protocols.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards.
