The Common Services Officer, under the direction of the Management Counsellor, ensures the implementation of program objectives and functionally supervises the Embassy’s administrative functions, including finance and human resources. The incumbent directly plans and administers the Embassy’s budget, contracting and projects, as well as conducts research and analysis to advise Management on financial matters.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate courses as well as undergraduate courses in the area of specialization; Participate in research, publication and other scholarly activities;
  • Attend graduate student committees; Provide service to community, state and profession;
  • Teaching, assessing and examining students in masters and doctoral programmes and participate in activities related to the development of teaching materials and teaching methods; Supervising postgraduate students;
  • Participate in the development of curricula and responsible for the designing of syllabi in the units taught in the department;
  • Develop strategies that will ensure quality research and development and also coordinate research and development activities at the department;
  • Make significant contribution to the development of programmes;
  • Attract external research funding;
  • Publish research findings in high quality peer-reviewed journals;
  • Liaise closely with other teaching, technical and administrative staff to ensure quality teaching;
  • Undertake research, innovation and consultancy (individual or collaborative) work approved by University management;
  • Be academic advisor to his/her department;
  • Develop contacts with scholars of other universities;
  • Undertake any other job and responsibility consistent with the nature of the post

    Requirements

  • Candidates must have an earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university, be registered or register-able by the relevant professional body;
  • Have a minimum of twenty four (24) publication points;
  • At least sixteen (16) of them in refereed journals:
