Mr Price Group Inventory Controller Jobs in South Africa; The Inventory Controller will monitor and control inventory processes to optimize the flow of stock through the Distribution Centre (DC). The role ensures accuracy, quality, and efficiency in inventory management while liaising with stakeholders and supporting audits.

Responsibilities

Inventory Accuracy & Optimization

  • Coordinate and plan inventory flow through the DC.

  • Implement action plans to ensure accuracy of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Work with production teams to optimize processes.

  • Liaise with stakeholders including DC, IT, couriers, suppliers, customers, auditors, and store inventory teams.

  • Monitor exceptions between WMS and ERP systems and provide findings/recommendations.

    Inventory Control

  • Monitor quality control processes and risk areas.

  • Investigate processes, raise call logs, and recommend improvements.

  • Reconcile inventory through investigations and adjustments.

  • Drive inventory accuracy by identifying trends and reporting to management.

  • Control perpetual stock counting and support audits.

  • Monitor overstocks and stock ageing, liaising with production to clear stock.

  • Implement improvement processes to reduce inventory issues.

  • Work with Inventory Lead to ensure cycle counts are monitored.

  • Manage control measures to resolve discrepancies.

  • Write and maintain procedures for inventory control processes.

  • Investigate
    spikes in store queries.

  • Monitor stock in transit and ensure transfers meet ageing requirements.

  • Collaborate with Durban warehouse inventory team and support warehouse managers.

    Characteristics Required

  • Advanced Excel proficiency.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory and admin procedures.

  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Problem‑solving ability and effective communication.

  • Self‑discipline, motivation, and supply chain insight.

  • Strong understanding of systems processes.

    Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in inventory management or business administration.

    Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a DC environment.

  • 3 years’ experience in inventory control.
