    Qualification

  • Diploma in Library and Information Science or Archives & Records Management
    or its equivalent from recognized institution.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a comparable position.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifying bibliographical details of Library materials

  • Conducting shelf reading and weeding Library materials.

  • Classifying Library materials

  • Undertaking acquisition of Library materials

  • Verifying pro-forma invoices against order cards

  • Circulating published catalogues to departments

  • Supervising filling and updating of Library records

  • Educating library users.

  • Undertaking short loan reservations.

  • Receiving and recording journals in card indices.

  • Keying in new acquisitions and user’s data into the computer.

  • Analysing library statistics.

  • Co-ordinating issuance and receiving of library materials.

  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
