Job Description

Scope of Work

  • Manage and ensure that all disbursements are carried out in an efficient and effective manner, and in accordance with the Feteh financial policies.

  • Ensure that internal financial controls are maintained throughout the organization.

  • Review files and procedures for compliance to generally accepted practices and principles; and input and update financial data into the QuickBooks system

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring smooth implementation of robust and adequate financial systems and procedures in line with Feteh finance policies and good accounting practices;

  • Implement the tasks within the finance diary for month end and year end as directed by the Finance Manager and in accordance with Feteh timescales;

  • Carry out spot checks before and after posting transactions into QuickBooks Accounts.

  • Ensure that all payments are completed within agreed timescales, and only when authorization is received as per the Feteh financial policies.

  • Ensure that all financial transactions are fully supported, accurately coded and that they are all captured in QuickBooks Accounts on a daily basis – supporting documentation is properly filed for ease of retrieval

  • Ensure petty cash, banks, and advances are processed in accordance with Feteh policies and reconciled on a monthly basis

  • Prepare payroll and reconciliation on a monthly basis for onward review; ensure that monthly salaries are paid in a timely manner

  • Ensure taxes are deducted from salaries
    and paid according to government legislation requirements

  • Ensure safe security of cash in the office and coordinate weekly and monthly cash counts, including spot counts;

  • Ensure accurate cash flow forecasts are completed, and cash and bank balances managed in the organization to minimize balances;

  • Ensure that systems are put in place to assure document security and ease of retrieval for a complete audit trail from the System Accounts records to supporting documentation and vice versa;

  • Ensure that internal financial controls relating to cash and bank are consistently applied e.g. maintaining authorized bank signatories list in accordance with scheme of delegation

  • Directly lead, manage and motivate the Cashier and Documentation Assistant and ensure she/he has clear work plans & performance management is integrated in day to work activities.

  • Support the audit processes;

  • Support in ensuring that audit recommendations are implemented

    Job Requirements

    Experience and Qualifications

  • Academic Qualification- Bachelor Degree from recognized University in Accounting or Finance.

  • Work Experience 4 years, out of which 2 years’ experience in related as Senior Finance Officer.

  • Special Training- Computer literate, particularly QuickBooks System

  • Other Requirements Knowledge of local laws of the country

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to work long hours and work with other staffs

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, preferred
