Tasks & Responsibilities
Strategic and Technical Leadership
Lead development, governance, and continuous improvement of medical content within MSF Ubuntu digital health systems.
Define and maintain standardized indicators, datasets, metadata, terminology, and reporting structures.
Review requests for new medical content for feasibility and alignment with standards.
Coordinate validation and approval processes with advisors and subject matter experts.
Ensure compliance with MSF standards, guidelines, and interoperability principles.
Collaborate with Data Science, Epidemiology, and Digital Health teams.
Contribute to digital health strategy, innovation, and policy development.
Conduct portfolio‑level medical data analysis to support operational choices.
Program Support
Provide technical support for DHIS2, EMRs, and other digital platforms.
Maintain project‑specific metadata and support system changes.
Develop guidance documents and metadata documentation.
Advise on indicator definitions, reporting, and data interpretation.
Support data quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in upgrades, testing, and rollout of new functionality.
Coordinate annual reporting processes.
Strengthen routine data use for monitoring and decision‑making.
Support Med‑Ops cells and country programs in medical programming data analysis.
Data Governance and Analytics
Support implementation of medical data governance frameworks.
Promote harmonization of datasets across MSF Ubuntu programs.
Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools.
Support analysis of routine health information for monitoring.
Collaborate to improve data quality and consistency.
Contribute to indicator frameworks and continuous improvement of reporting systems.
Representation and Coordination
Represent MSF Ubuntu in intersectional Digital Health and HIS communities of practice.
Participate in technical working groups on digital health and interoperability.
Coordinate medical content development with advisors.
Collaborate with external partners, institutions, and developers.
Represent MSF Ubuntu in conferences, workshops, and technical meetings.
Capacity Building and People Management
Support establishment of the E‑Health team.
Develop and maintain training materials.
Deliver webinars, workshops, and user
training.
Mentor program teams on health information management.
Support onboarding of new users and advisors.
Provide second‑line support for medical content queries.
Contribute to organizational learning on digital health and governance.
Qualifications
Education
Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Clinical Officer, or other relevant health qualification (Essential).
Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Digital Health, or related field (Essential).
Experience
Minimum five (5+) years’ experience in humanitarian or public health programs.
Demonstrated experience with DHIS2, EMRs, or health information systems.
Skilled in medical data management, analysis, and visualization.
Proven supervision, mentoring, and training experience.
Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
Competencies
Strong knowledge of DHIS2 configuration, EMRs, and HIS.
Expertise in medical data governance, quality management, and indicator development.
Dashboard development and data visualization.
Health data analysis and Microsoft Office 365 proficiency.
Excellent documentation skills.
Commitment to MSF principles, strategic thinking, service orientation, and cross‑cultural awareness.
Languages
Excellent fluency in spoken and written English (Essential).
French or Arabic is an advantage.
Conditions and Benefits
Job Location: Nairobi (Kenya) or Johannesburg (South Africa).
Contract: 3‑year renewable, full‑time.
Start Date: 01 October 2026.
Salary: EUR 31,216 annually (HQ Grade 9), with 2% annual increment up to 10 years.
