Key, Duties and Responsibilities

Process Information materials in accordance with set standards.

Carry out library referencing work.

Maintain Library catalog.

Compile bibliographies to enable end users access information easily

Carry out end user training

Maintain local databases by digitizing library materials, editing, cleaning and uploading records into the Institutional repository

Undertake stock evaluation and weeding

Supervise and appraise Library Assistants and other support staff in line with the HR policy

Any other official duties as assigned by the line supervisor from time to time.

Required Qualifications

An Honour’s Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution Science from a recognized institution.

Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution.

Experience

Should have a minimum of three years relevant experience from a reputable Institution.

Skills/Competences

Excellent communication skills

Proficient in computerized systems related to library work

High Integrity

Ability to work with teams

Quick judgment and decision making

Ability to initiate change

Tenure of Appointment Four (4) year contract

Age Limit Applicants should not exceed 40 years of age on the date indicated as the deadline for submission of applications.
