We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our Johannesburg team at LexisNexis. If you’re passionate about what you do and want to work in an established, dynamic, market-leading software business, this opportunity may be perfect for you.

This role requires a self-driven individual with strong negotiation skills, good attention to detail, an understanding of software development, strong teamwork skills, and excellent time management.

Responsibilities

Define and communicate the product vision and motivate the development team to build and deliver the product to market

Collaborate with business on the product strategy

Collaborate with stakeholders and the development team to define and communicate the roadmap

Understand the market, the customer, competitors and the business in order to make sound decisions

Engage with stakeholders and users in order to identify and clarify requirements and priorities

Identify, plan and prioritize development team work by maintaining a functional backlog

Defines iteration goals and sprint milestones and deliverables

Makes tradeoff sessions between scope and schedule to define release plan with advice from the team

Work with team to ensure high quality releases

Manage stakeholder expectations

Prior experience as a Product Owner or

Project Manager is advantageous

Provide leadership in managing projects and resources to ensure maximum value added to product enhancements

Oversee and ensure the successful deployment of the product to market

Requirements

Analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize effectively

Ability to deliver under pressure

Solution and results orientated

Excellent communication skills

Technical background is essential

Business acumen

Process-oriented and driven to achieve strategic goals

Bachelor's degree/Diploma (a computer related discipline is preferred such as Computer Science, Information Systems)
