Key Functions

⦁ To measure and model the different parts of a white cane.

⦁ To maintain and keep an inventory of the equipment and materials in the unit.

⦁ To prepare plans for the unit and prioritize what to produce.

⦁ To set targets for production, marketing and distribution of white canes and monitor progress.

⦁ To compile and submit reports of activity of the Unit.

Key Outputs

⦁ Different parts of a white cane measured and modelled.

⦁ Inventory of the equipment and materials in the unit kept and maintained.

⦁ Plans for the unit prepared and what to produce prioritized.

⦁ Targets for production, marketing, distribution (and sales) of braille materials set and progress monitored.

⦁ Reports of the activity of the Unit compiled and submitted.

Person Specifications

Academic qualifications]

⦁ Must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering (Carpentry) with experience in white cane production or its equivalent from a recognized awarding Institution.
