Kenya Pipeline Company General Manager - Internal Audit Jobs
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Audit Oversight and Advisory
Provide guidance to Management and the Board Audit Committee in overseeing the audit function.
Recommend improvements to strengthen the control environment and minimize risk exposure.
Provide independent assurance on effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, governance, ethical conduct, and fraud risk frameworks.
Risk‑Based Audit Strategy Development
Lead development and implementation of risk‑based internal audit strategy and annual audit plan.
Consider strategic, operational, financial, technology, cybersecurity, compliance, and emerging risks.
Audit Planning and Execution
Plan and conduct audits to evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, CMA regulations, NSE obligations, and disclosure requirements.
Operational Improvement and Internal Controls
Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
Review of Audit Charters and Governance Frameworks
Periodically review Internal Audit Charter and Audit Committee Charter for alignment with global standards and governance codes.
Enterprise Risk Management Review
Assess processes for identification, assessment, and management of enterprise risks.
Provide assurance on effectiveness of KPC’s risk management framework.
Follow‑Up on Audit Recommendations
Review corrective actions taken by Management.
Report adequacy of actions and escalate unresolved issues to the Board Audit Committee.
Professional Standards and Regulatory Compliance
Recommend adoption of new standards, codes, policies, and methodologies.
Independent Assurance on Projects and Systems
Provide assurance during implementation of new projects, processes, and systems.
Cover digital transformation, technology governance, cybersecurity, business continuity, and capital projects.
External Audit and Assurance Advisory
Provide technical input to the Board Audit Committee on external auditors’ performance and independence.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree from a recognized
institution.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent.
Professional certification: CPA (K), CISA, CFE, CIA, or equivalent.
Membership in a relevant professional body in good standing.
At least 15 years’ relevant experience, with 5 years in senior management/executive role in a large, complex organization.
Experience in a public listed company or highly regulated environment is an added advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of corporate governance, capital markets, and regulatory frameworks.
High ethical standards and courage to speak truth to power.
Ability to provide insights that drive business value beyond compliance.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
In‑depth knowledge of risk‑based auditing, COSO, ERM, and Kenyan regulatory frameworks.
Analytics and IT audit experience is an added advantage.
Ability to lead diverse teams and foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
