Kenya Medical Training College Lecturer - Nursing Jobs

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach and evaluate students.

  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson notes, and lesson plans.

  • Assess students in clinical areas.

  • Guide and counsel students on academic matters.

  • Support the design and development of instruments to assess health training needs.

  • Develop guidelines for evaluating health teaching materials across different health fields.

  • Evaluate training programmes for effectiveness and relevance to current and future health needs.

  • Implement competence‑based curriculum.

  • Plan and organize continuing education programmes for health workers.

  • Conduct research in area of specialization, including operational research, and supervise student research projects.

  • Participate in formulating and implementing new training strategies.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • OR KMTC Higher Diploma in Anesthesia, Critical Care, Nephrology, Peri‑operative Nursing, Theatre Nursing, Psychiatry and Mental Health, Pediatric Nursing, Ophthalmic Nursing, Palliative Care, Public Health Nursing, Midwifery, Oncology, Medical‑Surgical Nursing, Family Health, with at least six (6) years of professional practice.

  • Registration with the relevant professional body.

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.``
