KEMRI Assistant Data Manager - Migori and Kisumu Jobs in Kenya



Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Data Manager in managing data for all studies.

  • Support design and implementation of SOPs, CRFs, and databases.

  • Provide support to site staff in data entry and management.

  • Conduct continuous data quality checks as per SOPs and propose solutions for issues identified.

  • Maintain an updated data query log for inconsistencies and queries.

  • Assess training needs of study staff based on query logs and actively participate in training.

  • Advise administration on policy issues affecting data management in liaison with the Data Manager.

  • Respond to data queries from the Central Coordinating team.

  • Ensure safety and security of IT equipment on site, including allocation to staff.

  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Documentation Practice (GDP), and human subject protections during study implementation.

  • Perform any other duties assigned during study implementation.

    Vacancy Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, ICT, or related field (Mandatory).

  • At least two (2) years of experience in data entry/management (Mandatory).

  • Training and experience in database platforms such as REDCap, SurveyCTO, Access, and statistical packages (R, STATA, SPSS, Excel) (Mandatory).

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including report writing and presentations (Mandatory).

  • Proactive, creative, and systematic thinker with strong problem‑solving skills, able to work independently and make sound judgments (Mandatory).

  • Prior research experience (Added Advantage).

  • Competence in IT skills, including basic knowledge of hardware, software applications, and networking (Added Advantage).
