Job Purpose:

  • This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology.

  • Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair as needed.

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot staff workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.

  • Assign new account IDs for secure and controlled printing and scanning to a folder or email

  • Set up IP and PABX phone systems, manage extensions, directories and call set up

  • Active Directory set up which includes PC and user set up, file servers and set up file servers and network drives for backup

  • Maintenance of computer software and hardware

  • Accurately document instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal.

  • To resolve incidents with printers, copiers and scanners

  • Assists with Server installations and setups. This is to include Multiplatforms such as Active Directory, Widows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2012. Setting up and configuring new core servers, installing authorized software and ensuring patches and upgrades are applied to core servers

  • Assist in designing and implementing disaster recovery processes and
    procedures for re-establishing servers, databases, and operating systems in the event of a disruption

    Secondary Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance operations daily, weekly and monthly on select servers, SQL databases, and information systems for the purpose of ensuring efficient program operations

  • If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.

  • Train staff in the use of their software, hardware, and phone systems.

  • Assist in performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, network cards, and other components and equipment.
