Irish Rule of Law International Programme Lawyer Jobs in Malawi; IRLI has progressively grown through the years, expanding both its programme portfolio and stakeholder partnerships. The organisation has recently completed its 2026–2030 strategic plan, secured multi‑annual EU funding, and is developing a renewed five‑year proposal to the Embassy of Ireland in Malawi. The Programme Lawyer (Judiciary) will contribute to this proposal, helping shape IRLI’s future work with the Judiciary of Malawi and other criminal justice stakeholders. IRLI’s broad programme base includes access to justice, institutional capacity strengthening, and legal education.

Role Overview

The Programme Lawyer (Judiciary) role, established in 2015, provides technical support to the Malawi Judiciary under a Memorandum of Understanding. The successful candidate will work closely with:

The Chief Registrar of the High Court and Supreme Court of Malawi

The Head of the Malawi Judiciary Development Programme

The Chair of the Malawi Judiciary Training Committee

The role involves supporting capacity strengthening, internal coordination, judicial visits, and court user committee meetings.

The position is under the direct supervision of the Country Director in Malawi and the Director of Programmes in Ireland.
